5 Brutal Truths About Life No One Wants To Admit

Let’s be honest. Life sucks sometimes. We lose people in our life, lose jobs, relationships end, etc. Nothing lasts forever. You have to be grateful for the things you have and the people that are surrounding you throughout your life’s journey. Most of the time we are always searching for something more, and never take the time to appreciate what we have at the moment. Right in front of us. I wanted to talk about five brutal truths not many people want to face in life, but one day will have to come to the realization.

1.) You are going to die.

Shocker right? I feel like sometimes people aren’t thinking about this. I think about death everyday of my life. I tell people that and they sometimes think it’s weird or there’s something wrong with me for thinking that way. But, yes you will die one day. We all will. I think it’s important to appreciate what you have everyday and just be grateful for what you have at the moment. I mean seriously think about the probability of you existing right now. Life is truly amazing, and is really a blessing. You won’t be here on this beautiful earth forever. Make it count.

2.) Your material possessions won’t make you happy

How many wealthy people do you know that are depressed and lonely, but have any material possession you can imagine? I know many of those people, and I would never want to end up like that. Buying exotic cars, houses, clothes, etc. will bring you short term happiness, and then you’ll always be searching for the next big thing. Don’t get me wrong it’s nice to have nice things. I enjoy having nice things. But, I realize it’s not going to make me happy. Just take notice. No one is going to remember what you spent your money on.

3.) Nothing lasts forever

For those of you that believe in soulmates, great I totally respect that! I love seeing those old couples that have been together for their entire life. But, sometimes relationships don’t last a life time, and that’s okay. Every relationship is meant for growth. It might last, it might not. Your career may totally change. You may be forty years old and do a complete 360 with your career, and that’s totally okay. We don’t know if forever is possible with many things in our life and want to believe it. But, living in the present and appreciating what’s right in front of you is something to be grateful for.

4.) Time is by far our most valuable asset

We only have so much time on this earth, and one day (we don’t know when) it will all come to an end. Time is our most valuable asset. We all have 24 hours each day. It’s up to you to decide on how you want to use them. Yes, money is important. But, up until this point in my life I’ve come to the realization that time is my most valuable asset. I need to use it wisely and take advantages of opportunities that come my way.

5.) People aren’t going to remember what you did for a living or how much money you made, but how YOU made them feel

People aren’t going to remember how many sales you had for the company you worked for. None of that really is going to matter. You won’t be on your death bed wishing you made a few more sales, or did such and such with a company. But, when you’re gone the people you affected will remember how you made them feel. They will remember the impact you had on the world and the people around you. It’s definitely important to remember how we can add value so someones life each day throughout our busy lives. Make them feel something.
